- Polished is easy to wipe but can show scratches and feel more slippery when wet.
- Honed offers softer reflection and a restrained appearance.
- Flamed creates a textured surface that should be matched to its setting.
- Leathered provides tactile texture for selected counters or walls.
- The same finish name can look different on different stones.
3. Coordination workflow
- Prepare finish samples on the proposed stone.
- Review them under relevant lighting conditions.
- Discuss cleaning and contact requirements for the use.
- Keep an agreed control sample and finish description.
- Record the finish method in handover documents.
Structural design, site surveys and installation remain with the responsible project parties.
4. Limits and risks
- Do not select a finish from catalogue images alone.
- Use caution with polished surfaces in frequently wet areas.
- Textured finishes may require different cleaning methods.
- An ambiguous description cannot replace a physical control sample.
5. Pre-approval checklist
Confirm actual sample, finish type, use area, lighting, cleaning, control sample and handover scope.
