Overview and practical value
Sintered stone is a large-format architectural surface manufactured from mineral feedstock using a heat-and-pressure process defined by the producer. Hardness, scratch, thermal and UV performance vary by product and should be checked in the applicable datasheet; design and fabrication information should follow the selected manufacturer’s guidance for corner radii and stress-relief cutouts.
For architects, contractors, and developers, an appropriate selection should be assessed well beyond the reference photograph. The slab must suit the architectural scale, service conditions, panelization layout, and fabrication budget. A small physical sample helps evaluate color; full-slab photography and layout drawings help assess vein movement across adjacent surfaces.
Before selection, review full-slab imagery and physical samples under the lighting conditions relevant to the project.
Reading color and veining
Observe the sintered stone surface at three distances: close up for print resolution and micro-texture; mid-range for pattern direction and continuity; from afar to assess overall surface flatness and color tone under varied lighting.
What to confirm before ordering
- Confirm the exact trade name, material classification, and batch lot.
- Review the full slab, physical sample, and planned cutting layouts.
- Approve dimensions, thickness, surface finish, edge profiles, cutouts, and tolerances per shop drawings.
- Mark sensitive zones and key veining features before fabrication begins.
- Confirm edge details, cutouts, joint locations and the agreed fabrication information before work begins.
Applications to consider
Common application directions include worktops and interior surfaces, large-format wall cladding and facades or exterior uses when approved by the system supplier. Ultimate suitability depends on the specific material grade, substrate framing, structural loads, environmental exposure, and manufacturer or engineering guidelines.

Technical and care notes
Sintered stone is an industrial surface engineered from natural minerals under high pressure and temperature. While offering product-specific stain and thermal performance, structural thickness and support should be verified against manufacturer technical manuals, particularly around sink cutouts and mitered joints.
Fabrication methods and any site support details belong to the project’s responsible technical parties and should follow the selected product documentation.
Routine care involves a soft microfiber cloth with clean water or neutral detergents. Avoid heavy point-impacts on unreinforced beveled edges. See the Cosentino technical documentation library for general product-reference context; it does not replace the selected product’s documentation.
Discuss stone options for your project
NHAN BAN STONE can help compare the design intent with available material, select blocks or slabs, fabricate in the workshop, inspect, pack and hand over within the agreed scope. Contact us by phone, Zalo or email, or open directions for an in-person discussion.
